I’ve been there! Wanting to hide beneath loose, black clothing. Wanting to stay home because nothing fits… Nothing looks good. It’s awful, and even if you know all of the advice about accepting your body as it is and dressing in clothes that show it off, accepting all of you, even the extra folds and bulges,) nothing helps you feel beautiful!
What about when you feel like a frump? Bloated, uncomfortable and like hiding under the covers?
When your clothes are uncomfortable, they enhance the parts of you that you’re hating on.
When the waistband cuts into your belly allowing the extra skin to bulge over the fold, you’re not likely to want to don that curve-hugging dress.
The question is “what to do?”
I’m going to share ONE tip! One thing that will help. If you’re wondering where to begin, it’s always in the gut! It all starts with your digestion.
Everything is affected by your digestion.
Your gut health affects absorption of nutrients, it helps prevent serious health conditions related to your diet, insulin… Blood sugar imbalances. It helps prevent PMS and menstrual discomfort, belly-aches, elimination and much more!
It’s the starting place for all health programs, “diets”, detox programs (both body and mind.) Gut/digestive health is essential.
When you feel bloated inside, nothing you do will help you feel better. Even if it doesn’t reflect in your appearance, it’s a feeling. It affects both body and mind… It affects your confidence, whether or not you decide to go out and socialize, your style of dress/appearance, and many more things. Probiotics are bacteria that help keep the natural balance of organisms (microflora) in the intestines.
The human digestive tract can contain about 400 types of probiotic bacteria that reduce the growth of harmful bacteria to promote healthy digestion.
There are many ways to introduce helpful bacteria into your digestive system. Fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and other fermented vegetables, tempeh, miso. Kombucha tea, microalgea (like spirulina, blue-green algae, Chorellla, yogurt and kefir if you do dairy.) Supplements (I think are important to help you maintain the balance especially when consuming the Standard American Diet. Prebiotics are a special form of dietary fiber that act like a fertilizer for the good bacteria (probiotics). They are an energy source for probiotics. They are important because, without prebiotics, probiotics won't be able to flourish.
Bacteria that feed on fermentable carbohydrates produce many beneficial substances, including short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and certain B-vitamins. SCFAs provide many benefits, both locally in the colon, also in the rest of the body. Some sources of these SCFAs are: Beans, onions, leeks and other foods in the onion family, asparagus, other plant foods. Also look at getting more fermentable fiber in your diet. I realize this is a brief overview, and nourishing the gut is a huge subject! I encourage you to look into it. You can search for credible information or contact me for help and support. I strongly encourage this!
When you’re digesting your food, eliminating completely and absorbing the nutrients you need for your health to flourish you’ll feel GREAT!
