Colorful food is full of healthy phytonutrients, colorful hair is fun and artful. I love the fun aspect of colors. Creating a meal that is a work of art is satisfying, full of nutrients and tastes good. Colorful hair can enhance your eyes and skin tone. Colorful clothing can lift your mood.
When it comes to hair color, My view is that is it a complement to your inner essence. It’s changeable and fun and a choice. When I see a person with hair that is going grey my first thought isn’t “we must cover that, it is a sign of looking old” - I look at the person within. Grey or silver is an option that can be beautiful. It’s in confidence and attitude.
Making the switch from covering grey to allowing nature to take over is a process. I’ve heard that the gray isn’t shiny, not silver enough, too wiry, dulling the hair, old-looking, so many things. It’s not a choice everyone will love but there are solutions to a number of problems dealing with graying hair, we aren’t all blessed with that platinum white natural color. There are solutions. One of the most popular things I do to help people accept their gray is to give subtle OR bold silver highlights to enhance hair with a minimal or moderate amount of silver. I also can RAMP UP the silver and help you make a statement!
I also help the grey hair blend together and give it a nice cool hue that looks so good framing the face.
Another choice that is completely valid is to cover it, either opaque or translucent. There is no shame in any of the choices. Generally, as the hair lightens naturally with grey, it’s a great time to soften the color which is more youthful-looking as well as for easier upkeep.
